We are looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Warden for the parish of Storrington & Sullington.
Working alongside the community, the role of the warden team is to tackle the fear of crime, encourage a shared sense of ownership and responsibility, and looking out for elderly and vulnerable members of the community whilst providing a uniformed reassuring patrolling presence. You will work closely with the police, the Parish Council and other agencies.
You should be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) with a mature outlook on life, with the necessary confidence, enthusiasm and commitment to undertake this rewarding role. Experience of working with the community is desirable but not essential. You will receive training in subject areas including Warden Core Skills, ASB Powers, Personal Safety, First Aid, Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and other job related skills. You should possess a full and clean current driving licence.
Working a shift rota to provide a service at peak times, the job will entail working some evenings and weekends with the flexibility to alter duties at short notice. Adaptable working arrangements may also be possible. It should be noted that the post involves foot patrolling outside in all weathers.
Due to its nature this post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to Police Level 2 Vetting clearance and an Enhanced DBS.
