11 - 16 Support Officer

About the Role:
- This role is dedicated to supporting the 11-16 Cohort Lead within the Virtual School. It involves working collaboratively with a wide range of services, including social care, schools, and other professionals, to ensure that Children in Care (CiC) and other vulnerable groups receive the support they need throughout their educational journey and achieve the best possible outcomes. Key aspects of the role include supporting the Personal Education Plan (PEP) process, contributing to multi-agency working, and assisting with the delivery of training across services.
- The post holder will work proactively to promote positive educational outcomes for Children in Care, building and maintaining effective partnerships with schools, parents/carers, professionals, and other relevant agencies.
- This is a Term Time Only role
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for the educational needs of Children in Care and Care Leavers, promoting strong academic progress, high levels of attendance, and equal opportunities to achieve success across educational settings and council services.
- Support the Lead Officer in driving improvements in educational outcomes for identified groups within the cohort supported by this role.
- Share and apply knowledge of the effects of attachment, trauma, and loss on learning and the wider development of Children in Care, helping professionals to better understand and respond to these needs.

Salary range
- £25,721.70 - £28,365.10 per year
