The Role
We’re recruiting for Accessibility Specialists here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Digital Accessibility team, in the Delivery Governance Office.
In the Digital Accessibility team, we work as a cross-cutting team, supporting all of these areas. To collaborate with them in building accessible digital products and services, we partner with teams to provide ongoing support or we deliver a specific accessibility consultancy service. To spread accessibility knowledge throughout the MoJ, we create and run accessibility courses, write and distribute guidance and host an Accessibility Champions network.
We’re a multi-disciplinary, distributed team who work on a hybrid basis. Whilst we do work independently, we have regular sessions to plan the workload and review past work. Key Responsibilities
- Conducting basic accessibility reviews of digital products and documents and sharing these with MoJ teams
- Collaborating with teams all over the MoJ through our consultancy service, by arranging meetings with consultancy clients and discussing their accessibility requirements with them
- Co-delivering accessibility courses to internal audiences, across a range of topics such as content accessibility, documents and introduction to accessibility. The courses have already been created, and you will be supported by a Senior Accessibility Specialist to onboard you onto them
- Writing accessibility guidance for our Digital Accessibility Guidance, when there is demand for new content
- Supporting the facilitation of Accessibility Bar sessions and the Accessibility Champions Network, with support from a Senior Accessibility Specialist
- Working collaboratively with one product team on a regular basis, with support from a Senior Accessibility Specialist, as part of our Partnership strategy
- Line management of junior accessibility specialists or accessibility apprentices

Essential
· Strong understanding of the needs of all users and how to apply WCAG 2.2 and government accessibility requirements to support these

· Ability to engage and communicate with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders on the topic of accessibility
Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for BPSS clearance
