This is an exciting opportunity to join Caerphilly Homes and the Older Persons Housing team, on a permanent basis as part of a job share opportunity as an Activities Co-ordinator.
Would you like to be part of a dynamic team, delivering a programme of activities and promoting social interaction for the Contract Holders living in the 32 Sheltered Housing schemes across the borough?
The successful candidate must have an excellent work ethic, good communication skills, demonstrate empathy and understanding whilst working independently and as part of team to find innovative ideas and deliver activities tailored to contract holders’ needs. You will be expected to support the Sheltered Housing team in promoting and enabling Contract Holders to participate in meaningful activities and social events, working across all Caerphilly Homes Sheltered Housing schemes with an aim to reduce loneliness and isolation.
The postholder will be responsible for delivering support to all Contract Holders relating to social interaction activities, as well as promoting independence. The postholder will also support the Older Persons Housing Team with administration and other relevant tasks.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, Health and Social Care or Support.
- Effective communication skills to liaise and negotiate with internal colleagues, service users, prospective tenants, Elected Members and external agencies.
- Experience of working with older people.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit sheltered housing scheme, attend meetings, and visit residents in their home.
