Administration and Finance Manager

About the Role
Gambier House TMO (GHTMO) is looking for an experienced and proactive Administration and Finance Manager (Estate Manager) to lead the operations of our estate and help shape a thriving community. GHTMO manages 115 properties in Islington, and this is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to residents’ lives while ensuring excellent housing services.
As the head of operations, you will support the management board, ensuring the TMO’s operations, decision-making, and financial management align with statutory provisions, the management agreement, and housing best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee housing services for residents, including repairs, tenancy management, and responsive customer service.
- Support the board with continuous improvement, contract management, and financial oversight, including managing the part-time bookkeeper and producing clear reports.
- Undertake regular estate inspections and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Fire Safety policies.
- Manage, motivate, and develop staff and contractors, ensuring high standards and performance.
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the Betty Brunker Community Hall.
- Implement effective procurement for professional services as required.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements (DBS check required).
Person Specification
- Experience in social housing, Tenant Management Organisations, or housing services.
- At least 3 years’ experience managing repairs, tenancy/leasehold management, ASB cases, income management, and customer services.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH Level 4, Housing degree) or willingness to attain.
- Experience managing budgets, preparing accounts for audit, and using Microsoft software.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing staff and contractors.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, TMOs, and social housing issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary range
- £43,000 - £45,000 per year
