Are you an experienced manager or team leader with a strong background in administration and financial systems?
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to lead our Administration Support Team on a fixed-term basis to cover an internal secondment for up to six months.
About the Role
This is a key role responsible for managing a small back-office support team and delivering high-quality administrative and financial support across the Street Scene, Leisure, & Technical Services and Planning, Housing & Environmental Health directorates. You will work closely with service leads and other departments to ensure smooth operations, accurate financial reporting, and excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Administration Assistants and a Senior Administration Assistant.
- Oversee team performance, leave management, and sickness reporting.
- Ensure timely responses to internal and external enquiries and complaints.
- Maintain and monitor financial systems, including invoice processing, budget monitoring, and income tracking.
- Provide technical support for systems such as Idox Uniform, Whitespace, Jadu, and Power BI.
- Support service heads with salary verification, budget planning, and reporting.
- Coordinate updates to privacy notices and support information governance processes.
About You
- Educated to A-level or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in budget monitoring, data presentation, and working with staff at all levels.
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial/data systems.
- Ability to interpret and present complex financial data clearly.

Salary range
- £35,553 - £41,067 per year
