We are looking for an organised and proactive Administration Officer to join our busy Housing team.
This is an office-based role, with some face-to-face customer contact, as well as contact by phone and email with residents, colleagues, landlords, letting agents and partner organisations.
A key part of the role will be processing loan agreements to help people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, move into private rented accommodation. These agreements often need to be completed quickly and accurately, within strict deadlines, so that residents do not lose the opportunity to secure a property.
You will also support other important housing administration processes, including checking and processing temporary accommodation invoices, maintaining accurate records, dealing with correspondence, and preparing file redactions for homelessness reviews and legal challenges.
We are looking for someone with good administrative experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will need to be confident using IT systems, spreadsheets and databases, and able to handle sensitive information appropriately.
You should also have good communication skills and be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with urgent enquiries or difficult situations.
This is a varied and worthwhile role where your work will directly support the Council’s homelessness prevention duties and help residents access suitable accommodation.
Salary range
