
After School Club Play Leader
Creswell Infant and Nursery School is a nurturing and inclusive school located in the heart of an ex-mining community near Bolsover. We currently welcome 192 pupils from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 2, along with a 48-place nursery offering 15-hour provision. The Headteacher and Governors would like to recruit a Play Lead, for a new project. In the Spring term we will be introducing a new Afterschool Club, and along with our Breakfast Club facility, this will provide full wraparound care for our children. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be involved from the start!
The successful candidate will join us as soon as possible. You will work each school day, after school. Hours to be confirmed but expected to be 3.00pm to 6.00pm.
Whilst this is a fixed term contract for 12 months, we hope to extend.

About the role:
As the Afterschool Club Play Lead, you will lead and develop the day-to-day operation of the Afterschool Club. Working with the Playworker to deliver activities, which are interesting, fun and appropriate for the age group.
You will lead activities, perhaps sports crafts and games. You will supervise children and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
You will build strong relationships with our parents and the teaching team. When appropriate, you will work together with other professionals in school for example our SEND and safeguarding/welfare team.
You will support the initial set up of the After school Club, ensuring consistency with our already established Breakfast Club facility, ensuring high quality facilities across school.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children in a play or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- A relevant qualification.
- A food hygiene and paediatric first aid certificate, or willing to complete.

Salary range
- £8,789.52 - £8,948.28 per year
