Job summary
Working to Alison Binalle, Senior Manager in the Affordable Housing Grant Historical Grants team you will be joining our small, experienced team of six who are committed to the long-term stewardship of capital grant that supports 1,000s of affordable homes all over England.
Working with Housing Associations and other providers of affordable housing, you will ensure that their grant notifications are routinely reviewed, challenged and verified for accuracy.
Working closely with managers you will be responsible for a varied caseload, which includes offering advice and support to internal and external stakeholders including Housing Associations and other landlords of affordable housing.
Job description
This is a vital role that ensures capital grant is always put to good use through recycling it into new affordable homes and, when applicable, the correct grant is recovered by Homes England to be used again to deliver the homes we need.
You will help to deliver a first-class customer service and make positive changes to the quality of data held and how it is used.
Working in a collaborative and flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team.
We are continuously looking at process improvements and there are some exciting projects to get involved with. We take an innovative and creative approach to historic data issues and this is an excellent time to develop our digital resources.
Person specification
Whilst our day job is to deliver great customer service to our stakeholders you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.
You will have a natural curiosity to investigate historic grant records and great attention to detail.
You will be comfortable communicating at all levels and have the confidence to question and challenge. The ability to analyse data from different sources and systems is key as well as always ensuring accuracy and quality of work.
You will be able to demonstrate your analytical and problem-solving skills and be a fast learner with a “can do” attitude towards work and overcoming challenges.
You will be proficient in the use of appropriate IT systems Microsoft word, excel, IMS and a knowledge of BI would be advantageous.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team..
You will have a good understanding of Affordable Homes grant and the importance of the long-term stewardship and security of public funds
