We offer a hybrid working approach, but you'll be expected to spend the majority of your working week within our local communities and neighbourhoods.
As an Area Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in the delivery of Peabody’s customer services ambition by managing, supporting and motivating a team of Neighbourhood Managers to deliver a high-performance customer focused housing service to our customers. You’ll embed the Better Together culture and ensure staff follow through our values, demonstrating Simple, Safe and Smart ways of working.
You’ll provide housing operations expertise to the housing teams and the wider business, and you’ll use data and insights to really understand the customers in your area. You will be leading on the implementation and delivery of housing management services at Dagenham Green, a new and exciting multi-tenure development in East London. You’ll be an energetic and inspiring leader and manager, and you’ll have a strong track record of delivering excellent customer service, to deliver tangible outcomes. You’ll represent Peabody at relevant forums and lead the development of strong relationships that benefit the interest of Peabody and our customers. You’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of services by taking the lead on projects and ongoing tasks on behalf of the team and ensure your team manage their budget effectively and provide input into the annual budget setting and service charge budgets.
If you’re an excellent communicator with strong problem skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and persuade, this could be the role for you. You’ll have experience in managing community safety and tenancies, coupled with knowledge of housing legislations, regulatory standards and good practice, and can diffuse difficult and challenging situations. This role includes out of hours, and you are required to be out on site at least once a week and office based once a week.
To be successful in this role, you’re:
- experienced in staff management or leadership
- able to demonstrate a good level of practical knowledge and skills around problem solving and the ability to defuse difficult and challenging situations
- an excellent communicator, both verbal and written
- understanding of administrative processes and systems, including systematic investigations
- able to demonstrate a professional approach in the knowledge of conflict management
- experienced in using a wide range of IT software packages
- knowledgeable of relevant legislation for dealing with community safety issues and how the law can be applied in different scenarios.
- knowledgeable of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2014, Care Act 2014 and Children’s Act 1989
