Join our Asbestos and Water Compliance Team at L&Q:
This an excited opportunity to join a new asbestos team that will deliver the full range of asbestos services and work to the highest standards to keep our residents, colleagues and contractors safe.
We are looking for someone who understands asbestos compliance inside out and is prepared to challenge, improve and reshape how it’s delivered. You will take ownership of our asbestos strategy across a large, complex housing portfolio, ensuring residents, colleagues and contractors are protected not just by meeting regulations, but by driving standards beyond them.
You will play a central role in a newly formed compliance function, with genuine scope to influence direction, embed robust systems and raise expectations. We want someone who sees gaps, questions assumptions and implements smarter ways of working.
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will provide technical authority across the organisation and lead, manage and develop an Asbestos Officer. This is an opportunity to leave a mark to shape policy, strengthen governance and build a compliance culture that is confident, decisive and uncompromising on safety.
If you are comfortable operating at scale, confident in your judgement, and motivated by impact rather than routine, we want to hear from you.
If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!
Your impact in the role:
- Provide leadership and technical support to both the team and wider organisation
- Identify improvements and work with a team to implement and monitor their effectiveness
- To take every opportunity to influence the behaviour of others and demonstrate the importance of asbestos compliance whilst remaining collaborative and supportive
What you'll bring:
- Your experience of working in the asbestos sector and understanding the challenges faced by our consultants and remediation contractors
- Your knowledge of the practical application of asbestos legislation, survey and removal techniques and asbestos administration
- Holds BOHS Proficiency Modules in Asbestos (or equivalent and/or higher)
- Your communication skills, able to work collaboratively within a team interacting with internal and external customers stakeholders at all levels, as well as good report writing and presentation skills
If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage during this process, including application stage, please email lqcareers@lqgroup.org.uk
