Kick-Start Your Career in Property with a Role That Makes a Real Difference

Our Property & Commercial team is all about making places work – from council offices and commercial units to green spaces and community hubs. Behind every building and space is a team keeping it safe, efficient, and productive – and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a detail-driven and organised Asset Co-Ordinator (known internally as Property Officer) to join our team. This role is perfect for school leavers or graduates. If you’re ready to start your career in property, enjoy solving admin puzzles, and want to help shape how council-owned spaces are used and managed, this could be the perfect first step.

    Everything you need to know

As our Asset Co-Ordinator, you’ll become a key part of the team responsible for maintaining our property records, systems, and processes to ensure they run smoothly. You’ll work across a wide variety of property types – from office buildings to parks – and support everything from lettings and budgets to legal matters and contractor enquiries.

Based at our Sevenoaks offices, you’ll work alongside experienced surveyors, property managers and legal professionals. It’s the ideal environment to learn on the job, build valuable skills, and start carving out your career in the public property sector.

    What you'll be doing

    • Keeping theRe-leased and ePIMS systems accurate, up to date and well-organised
    • Managing digital property records and helping produce reports and insights
    • Supporting surveyors with lettings admin (e.g. referencing tenants, processing invoices)
    • Helping with commercial property disposals (notices, advertising, and report preparation)
    • Working with Legal Services on land ownership and mapping queries
    • Providing admin support across our Asset Management and Maintenance teams
    • Handling property-related enquiries from tenants, residents, contractors and colleagues
    • Assisting with energy contract administration
    • Creating purchase orders, checking invoices, and helping monitor budgets

What you'll bring to the role

    • Strong organisational and admin skills
    • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidence using IT and digital systems (we’ll provide training)
    • A proactive mindset – ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved

This is a great opportunity to launch your property career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment where you can learn from experienced professionals, gain exposure to real-world property issues, and make a tangible impact in your local community.

    What’s in it for you

This is a real chance to shape the future of our places and spaces. You’ll gain hands-on experience, grow your confidence, and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the buildings and environments that matter most to our district.

We are one of the few local government authorities to hold Platinum Investors in People accreditation. This accreditation highlights our passion for supporting people, developing talent, and working collaboratively and innovatively.

    Other benefits include:

    • Additional leave after 5 years of service
