Introduction
- Do you have a detailed understanding of asset management functions in a housing or related organisation?
- Do you have a sound understanding of relevant hosuing legislation including Decent Homes, Building Safety, HHSRS and compliance frameworks?
- Do you possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write clear, evidence-based, and credible reports and communications to support information sharing and decision making across the council?
- Do you have experience working on defined operational projects, working on tight deadlines and objectives with minimum supervision.
What’s the role?
The Asset Team leader will support the Asset Manager in the development and delivery of the Council’s Asset Management Strategy, ensuring that investment programmes, stock performance analysis, and asset planning align with strategic priorities and available resources. The postholder will deputise for the Asset Manager, contribute to planning effective investment programmes, lead the Asset Officers, and support stakeholder relationships.

What we’re looking for
- Strong leadership skills to manage and coordinate Asset Officers, supporting delivery of the asset management strategy.
- Proven ability to analyse stock data, performance and lifecycle information to inform strategic investment decisions.
- Experience of delivering investment programmes aligned to financial, regulatory, and strategic priorities within social housing.
- Ability to identify risks, opportunities, and regeneration potential across a housing asset portfolio.
- Strong stakeholder and partnership management skills, with the ability to influence and support policy and service delivery.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to co-ordinate and manage queries and complaints affectively and efficiently.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions
- Some evening and weekend work may be required in this role to attend resident engagement meetings and workshops

Salary
£52,269 - £54,360 per annum (P04)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.

Salary range
