Please apply online via the link provided.
Hackney is a proud, vibrant, and diverse London borough, and one committed to making a difference to the lives of residents. Following an ambitious transformation programme in adult social care, which has led to more people being independent and able to live a life of their choice, we embark on the next phase of our journey with energy and an opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team in Adult Social Care you will be responsible for ensuring the individual services you manage deliver a high quality and cost-effective service, underpinned by continuous improvement that is driven by qualitative and quantitative data. Reporting to the Director of Adult Social Care Operations, you will lead within your service and across the department to ensure the services you directly manage are working closely and collaboratively with the wider department, directorate, and partnership.
You’ll be an empowering leader with vision to succeed, ensuring there is integration of adult social care and health, while influencing your service areas and partners to work collaboratively. What’s more, you’ll deliver and advise on strategies for service development and improvements, and the performance achievements of departmental and customer objectives as well as develop new and innovative ways of doing things.
As a senior leader you will make a proactive contribution to delivering departmental and corporate objectives. You will have oversight of three key areas: Integrated Mental Health Service, Integrated Learning Disabilities Service and our Out of Hours function. You will provide direct management, supervision and professional support to staff directly reporting to the post.
We are looking for those with a passion for making a difference to people’s lives. You will be joining a dynamic and enthusiastic leadership team with bold ambition, high aspiration and an energy for delivering positive change. You will be an experienced manager with significant experience in this field whether that be in the public, private or voluntary sector. You will be someone who can work at pace and be able to respond to the significant pressures on reforms and workforce.
Are you excited by the opportunity to manage and influence practice in a complex, diverse and challenging environment? Then Hackney Council is the place where you can grow and develop. We will invest in making sure you have the right tools to do the job, the best working environment, and an open, collaborative, and creative culture for you to succeed.
As a Council, our most outstanding asset is our staff, who are highly dedicated to serving our residents and committed to our goals as an organisation.
