
Assistant Director Operations North Counties
As Assistant Director of Operations (North Counties), you’ll provide visible leadership across the region (circa 22,000) - fostering a supportive, accountable culture and ensuring our teams deliver exceptional services to residents.
You’ll play a key role in shaping performance, driving improvement, and representing the voice of North Counties across the organisation and beyond.
You’ll work closely with senior colleagues, stakeholders, and partners to deliver our regional and organisational objectives. With accountability for significant budgets, people, and performance, you’ll ensure that services are effective, resilient, and aligned with Peabody’s strategic priorities.
What you’ll do
- Lead multi-disciplinary operational teams, inspiring highperformanceand a culture of accountability.
- Use data and insights, including Power BI, to understand performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliverstrong performanceagainst targets while managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Represent the North Counties region — ensuring local voices are heard and embedded in decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders including MPs, councillors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Manage risk and business continuity, ensuring seamless service delivery to residents.
- Develop and deliver the regional plan,identifyingimprovement opportunities and sharing best practice.
What you'll need
- Experienced leader of Head of or above level with a proven record in managing multidisciplined teams.
- Experienced in harnessing data using Power BI to understand team performance and inform improvement in service delivery.
- Strongtrack recordof taking a proactive, informed risk-taking approach and delivering improvements in services,processand performance.
- Evidence of high-level stakeholder management in particular external management with stakeholders such as MPs,Councillorsor contract management experience.
- Experience in strategic management anddemonstratingability to translate into operational delivery whilst ensuring delivery of services within budget.
- Proven experience of codesign service delivery with residents

This role will be based at Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire and will require a minimum of two days per week in the office. Travel to the Head Office in Blackfriars, London and other offices in the business is a prerequisite of the role.
You will have a full UK driving licence and your own car for this role.
