Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for whole school improvement? Are you excited by the opportunity to shape the next phase of a school’s journey, continuing to raise standards across our school? If so, we would love to hear from you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the strong leadership team at Heygarth Primary School. We are a two form entry primary school with a Nursery, and currently have 430 pupils on roll. We have grown substantially over the last 5 years and are a popular choice in the local area, with our F2 admissions being full in September 2025.

Due to an internal restructure, we are looking for an Assistant Headteacher who would be responsible for either Curriculum and Assessment or Attendance and Behaviour - please state your preference and strengths in the relevant area in your application.
You will champion high standards in your relevant area across the school. Liaison with middle leaders will be key, supporting the strategic direction of the school.

You will have:
Qualified Teacher Status
Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children
A proven track record as an excellent classroom teacher
Successful experience as a current middle or senior leader in a primary school
A strong track record of improving outcomes for pupils
Our children are provided with a wide ranging, broad and balanced curriculum and we offer a large range of extra curricular activities.
We offer excellent CPD and support for all our staff, and put mental health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do - for our children and for our staff.

If you think we are the right setting for you, we would welcome your application.
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged. We are offering:
Wednesday 18th March at 4:00pm
Friday 20th March at 9:30am
Monday 23rd March at 4:00pm
Wednesday 25th March at 1:30pm
To register your interest, please contact our school office.

To apply, please complete the teacher application form, and supply a letter of application of no more than two sides of A4 addressed to the Headteacher, Mrs Hazel Beamish.
Applications should be sent to businessmanager@heygarth.wirral.sch.uk

The school is committed to the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of our children and expects the same level of commitment from all staff.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Level CRB check.

All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability
