Darlington Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a highly regarded, well established, creative and forward-thinking team of Educational Psychologists (EPs). The team works with schools and settings in a statutory and traded capacity, applying psychology to improve outcomes for children and families through a range of functions, including consultation, training, intervention and research.

The service is delighted to advertise 3 fixed term posts for Assistant Psychologists to support the implementation of the Local Authority’s Expert at Hand offer.

Assistant Psychologists will play a key role in promoting inclusive practice in schools and settings across the Local Authority, working closely with EPs and multi-agency professionals as part of an early intervention model. The role will include:

* Delivering evidence-informed interventions with children and young people, building on their strengths to address a range of barriers to their learning and social-emotional development

* Working collaboratively with parents, carers, school staff, and other professionals to develop effective approaches that promote inclusion, achievement and success

* Contributing to projects, training, research and service development activities alongside supportive colleagues

* Contributing to the production of psychological reports, written feedback and the development of resources, guidance and information for schools and settings

* Continuing your professional development through participation in training opportunities and high-quality professional supervision.

As an applicant, you will bring existing experience of work with children and young people in education or community settings, alongside a 2:1 (or above Psychology degree (with BPS Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership). You’ll be a friendly, motivated person, who enjoys being part of a team as well as feeling comfortable working independently. You’ll be organised, an effective communicator and able to meet deadlines.
