    Salary: £35,951 - £39,531 per annum dependant on experience plus £1,300 Essential Car User Allowance

    We are looking for a Commercial Professional with some Quantity Surveying experience to join the Property Services team in the position of Assistant Quantity Surveyor. The Assistant Quantity Surveyors work closely with the Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to ensure cost control and value for money in our operations.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyors are responsible for the financial and contractual administration of workstreams and projects carried out by L&Q, ensuring that general quantity surveying duties are performed to the highest standard and ensuring full contractual and monetary entitlement in the most advantageous terms L&Q.

    The postholder will take ownership of the project and workstream to ensure all costs and required contracts are in place. Manage L&Q’s subcontractors and suppliers to always achieve best value to a programme whilst protecting the business contractually and providing accurate financial forecasting.     The postholder will be assisting in the implementation of mitigation strategies for immediate implementation of all matters relating to contract and subcontract for review by Senior Quantity Surveyor.

    You will support all Operational Colleagues and all other relevant colleagues to ensure that all significant project issues and correspondence and all necessary contractual processes have been observed.

    Candidates will have previous experience of measuring subcontractor accounts and implementing cost control techniques. They will also have experience in managing contractor performance.

    Candidates will be able to demonstrate:

    · Strong analytical skills and must be highly numerate and data interrogation skills

    · Experience of managing principal and subcontractor arrangements and relationships

    · Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual knowledge

    · Competent in the use of standard methods of measurement – This should include Schedule of Rates (NHFs)

    · Working toward Degree or HNC level in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience

    · Able to work well as part of a team and take initiative when working on their own
