Assistant Support Worker - Napier Close (£24,570)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are looking for caring and enthusiastic Assistant Support Worker’sto join our dedicated team at Napier Close, a supported living service for individuals with learning disabilities in Hitchin.
Napier Close is a purpose-built block of 15 supported living, self-contained 1-bedroom flats with a lounge, kitchen and wet room/walk-in shower. There is an office with a communal lounge and kitchen.
What You will Do:
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Aid with the daily administration of medication
- Encouraging life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting
- Organising trips to local amenities
- Promoting independence and helping residents achieve their personal goals
- Following tailored support plans and risk assessments to ensure safety and wellbeing
Shifts are as follows (sleep-ins are required once or twice a week):
- 3pm - 11pm + sleep-in (11pm - 8am) + 8am - 4pm
- 10am - 6pm
- 11am - 7pm
As an Assistant Support Worker you will;
- Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.
- Promote life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
- Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".
- Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs.
- Be flexible and reliable, able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
It is essential that you have a Full UK Driving Licence, access to a car, and are happy to do sleep-ins (minimum one per week).
