Attendance Officer – Halton Lodge Nursery & Primary School
Contract: Part-time, Term time only // Fixed term until 31st August 2026 in the first instance
Grade: 4 SCP 4-6
Hours: 20 hours per week

Halton Lodge Nursery & Primary School is looking for a highly organised, proactive, and caring Attendance Officer to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives by supporting excellent school attendance and fostering strong relationships with families.

About the Role

As our Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring, tracking, and promoting pupil attendance across the school. You will work closely with staff, pupils, parents, and external agencies to ensure all children attend regularly and are supported to overcome any barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records using our school systems.
  • Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality, identifying patterns and concerns.
  • Contact parents and carers regarding absence, including first-day calling.
  • Work with families to promote good attendance and provide support where needed.
  • Produce attendance reports for senior leaders and governors.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including Education Welfare Services.
  • Support attendance-related initiatives and whole-school strategies.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is highly organised, efficient, and able to work independently.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident in using data and school information systems (training provided if needed).
  • Is approachable, calm, and able to build positive relationships with families.
  • Has experience in a school or administrative role (desirable but not essential).
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
