    The Role

    The Governors and Principal of our school are seeking to appoint an attendance officer who will be responsible for driving our attendance strategy across the school and be the link person between school and pupils/parents in relation to attendance.

    The applicant requires someone with good written, verbal, organisational and IT skills to ensure deadlines are achieved.

    The post holder will carry out a range of administrative duties, including:

    v Drive the school’s attendance strategy

    v Maintain a body of evidence, including absence reports/referrals

    v Analyse absence data to identify patterns

    v Carry out home visits to pupils with attendance concerns

    v Meet regularly with pupils’ families with concerning/declining attendance

    v Attend senior leadership meetings

    v Minute meetings

    v Produce letters/newsletters

    v Record and manage pupil attendance data and contact parents regarding pupils’ absence

    v Complete and share information with external bodies

    The successful candidate will require the following qualifications:

    • GCSE Maths and English grades (4 – 9) or equivalent qualification or be willing to work towards this.
    • Excellent ICT skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative with minimum supervision.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
    • Confident and competent in the use of all aspects of MS Office
    • An active interest in young people and education
    • A proven track record of good attendance
