Job description

Role Overview

The Brand and Campaigns Marketing Lead will report directly to Corporate Director for Customer Engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop marketing and brand strategies and campaigns across key areas of responsibility, ensuring alignment with business priorities and securing buy-in at senior levels, including Central Government.
  • Collaborate with media and audience engagement teams to adopt a thematic approach to planning and delivery, utilizing a mix of paid, earned, and owned marketing approaches.
  • Manage a mixed-model design function comprising in-house experts and commissioned agencies, ensuring a balance that supports requests from across the business.
  • Initiate and lead the 'Creative Hub', a matrix setup that brings together creatives from across MaPS in a community of practice.
  • Manage a budget of approximately £4 million, focusing on the efficient allocation of resources while maintaining final budget oversight with the Corporate Director.
  • Oversee key and high-value contracts and relationships with external suppliers, managing our reputation and associated risks effectively.
  • Enhance the MoneyHelper brand's visibility and position MaPS as a significant player in the financial wellbeing space.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of brand and marketing, supporting colleagues across MaPS to become brand ambassadors.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, using data-driven insights to optimise performance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of brand and marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Person specification

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Extensive senior-level experience leading marketing, brand, communications, or campaign activity within a complex organisation. Experience of digital services is desirable.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful communication strategies and engaging audiences effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering high-impact campaigns using various channels, including paid, no-cost, and low-cost options.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling briefings and strategic advice quickly.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of market research, insight techniques, KPI evaluation, and data-driven performance optimization.
  • Experience in writing business cases and procuring marketing/communications services.

Change management experience and a strong interest in financial wellbeing.

    Flexible Working
    At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a final-stage interview at our Bedford office.

The interview will last approximately one hour and will be conducted by a panel of three interviewers. As part of the assessment, candidates will be asked to deliver a presentation and participate in a competency-based interview designed to explore their experience, skills, behaviours, and alignment with the requirements of the role.
