Asset Management are looking to develop an Asset Information team to help develop a collaborative approach across internal towers and supply chain partners. The team will be responsible for assuring the information developed through projects delivery lifecycle, but also Facilities Management reactive and planned works. Job Description

Reporting to your line manager, this role supports the implementation and operation of the DWP BIM Assurance Framework, ensuring that project information is consistently validated, reliable, and fit for asset management use.

The role focuses on undertaking assurance validation activities, including independent spot checks of supplier assurance outputs, and supporting the production of structured, data‑driven reporting and insights. This includes maintaining assurance trackers, analysing trends in compliance and data quality, and contributing to dashboards and reporting outputs that support governance and decision-making.

The role operates at delivery level, supporting BIM Assurance processes defined by the BIM Manager, with responsibility for executing validation, reporting, and data management activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and third-party client assurance teams to support assurance processes, identify risks, issues, and misalignments, and contribute to continuous improvement of assurance methods, data quality, and reporting. The role also supports the development and maintenance of BIM/AIM communication site content, templates, and processes to enable consistent assurance delivery across the estate. The right candidates will be the touch point for a range of internal teams, supply chain partners, other Government Departments, with the opportunity to grow the role in areas of personal interest within a supportive and inclusive team environment.

Key accountabilities

  • Support the BIM Manager to provide the department with assurance on BIM documentation and data.
  • Working knowledge of BIM standards (UK BIM Framework, ISO19650 + supporting documents) to support the production of information due to a programme of change within the DWP Estate.
  • Assist in the development and production of reporting structures and perform assurance checks on supply chain BIM teams’ documentation & KPI’s.
  • Support assurance activities across the project lifecycle, including BEP assurance, deliverables assurance, and validation of outputs through spot checks aligned to the BIM Assurance Framework.
  • Apply judgement within defined assurance frameworks to assess compliance, identify risks, and determine when issues require escalation
  • Identify, record, and support the management of risks and issues arising from assurance activities, ensuring they are reflected in reporting and escalated where required.
  • Undertake content evaluation, in collaboration with other designers where necessary, doing Cobie data checks and model assurances, carrying out manual clash detection and more general model health checks.
  • Use Autodesk Revit to drive efficiencies, with a focus on retaining up to date information, ensuring it’s reliable, meets target levels and is accessible.
  • Enthusiasm to develop the team’s knowledge to include API’s and programming (understand and develop scripts using Dynamoand/or Revit Macro Manager is not essential but desirable) to assist the transfer of data, utilising Revit authoring software to help drive efficiencies.
  • Liaise with supply chain partners to ensure that models, drawings, details, schedules, etc are developed correctly and in accordance with the BIM requirements, take responsibility for checking own work and work produced by supply chain partners.
  • Work with other technicians within the Department to develop methods and models to assist them produce better information to improve outcomes (utilising Revit or open source files would be an advantage)
  • Exercise the skill, care and judgement to be expected of an experienced technician to ensure that models for which the Department are responsible for meet the BIM requirements by using modelling best practices and sharing this knowledge.
  • Support project and internal teams with advice, troubleshooting, mentoring.
  • Provide technical support for the team on Common Data Environment issues, with the ability to provide viable solutions to difficult challenges.
  • Attend project meetings if required to gain understanding of the project and learn what KPIs are required to assist the BIM/GSL managers
  • Additional tasks related to the role as requested by the BIM/GSL Manager.
  • Operate across multiple concurrent projects and suppliers, managing assurance activities and reporting outputs to meet regular governance timelines.

Person specification

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience reviewing and assuring digital information, documentation, or BIM deliverables against defined standards or requirements [Lead Criteria]
  • Experience working in the construction, asset management, or information management environment, with exposure to BIM processes.
  • Thorough understanding of information management principles and the information lifecycle within a construction or property context, with practical application
  • Experience working with structured data, trackers, or datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Experience producing structured reporting outputs (e.g. Excel, dashboards, or Power BI), including running regular reports
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends, risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Experience supporting internal teams and supply chain partners to meet information and assurance requirements
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload, work independently, and deliver at pace.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain issues, provide feedback to stakeholders, and support collaborative working.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD to support understanding and review of BIM outputs.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience using IT systems to manage information (e.g. Office 365, MS Projects, MS Forms, MS Planner, Power BI, SharePoint, and Common Data Environments).
  • Experience working with structured information environments such as SharePoint, Common Data Environments, or asset information systems.
  • Experience supporting assurance, compliance, or validation processes within projects or programmes.
  • Understanding of supplier performance monitoring and assurance frameworks, with experience working with or supporting supply chain partners.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar tools to support reporting, data analysis, and visualisation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with asset data, including data input, management, and understanding of structured data formats (e.g. IFC, COBie, NRM3, SFG20)
  • Knowledge of the survey or asset information industry, including land or measured building surveying processes
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks (supporting level, not primary role)
  • Applicable degree, HND, diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.

Success in this role is demonstrated through consistent and accurate assurance validation, high-quality reporting outputs, and effective support to governance processes, enabling confident, data-driven decision-making across a BIM Assurance Framework.

Selection process details

STAGE 1 - APPLICATION & SIFT

As part of the application process you will be asked to provide a Personal Statement of no more than 1000 words against the essential criteria as outlined above. You will also be asked to provide a short CV.

Your CV should be fairly short and just evidence very brief details of your work history and experience.

Please do not submit a speculative application where you do not meet at least 50% of the essential criteria as these applications will be unsuccessful. Do not include Behaviour examples within your application as these will not be assessed in the sift and will only be used at interview stage.

There will be an initial sift of applications based on the Personal Statement only, so please ensure you evidence how you meet the Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience requirement contained in the vacancy in this section. This will form a short list for interview.

STAGE 2 - INTERVIEW

All candidates who are successful at the sift stage will undertake a single virtual video interview.
