Reporting to the Head of Landlord Health & Safety, you will lead the development and delivery of our building safety strategy ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
What You Will Be Doing
You will take the lead in keeping our buildings and our residents safe. From overseeing high-risk homes to managing the Golden Thread and Safety Case Reports, you will make sure our building safety information is accurate, up to date, and inspection-ready.
You will drive safety improvements by coordinating inspections, managing contractors, progressing remedial works, and identifying risks early so issues are fixed before they grow.
Residents will trust you to communicate clearly and compassionately. You will provide accessible safety information and respond quickly to concerns, helping residents feel informed, respected, and reassured.
You will take a proactive approach to risk, analysing issues, implementing controls, and producing concise, meaningful reports that strengthen learning and decision-making.
Collaboration will be central to your role as you work across Repairs, Housing, Compliance, Development, and Asset Management, and build strong relationships with contractors and regulators.
And you won’t just follow best practice you will help shape it. You will refine policies, champion improvements, and stay ahead of regulatory changes to keep Hightown at the forefront of building safety.

Essential Skills & Behaviours
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in building safety, HRRBs, Safety Case development, or compliance.
- Ability to communicate clear, resident-friendly explanations of technical information.
- A respectful, collaborative way of working with colleagues, contractors, and residents.
- Highly organised, proactive, and confident managing risk in a complex environment.
- A compassionate, inclusive approach, ensuring residents feel supported and empowered.
- Have or be willing to obtain the CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management.
Essential Qualifications
- Health & Safety and/or Fire Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, Fire Management).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH, RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE, IFSM).
