At Arun District Council, we are continuously working to improve wellbeing, housing, the environment and the economy within the district. We care about making a difference to those who live, work, and visit Arun, and you could be that difference.

Overall Job Purpose:

At Arun District Council, we are committed to delivering high-quality housing services that put residents first. Following our C4 judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing, we are delivering a comprehensive Housing Improvement Programme to strengthen compliance, performance and service delivery. This is a key time to join us and contribute to that work.

We are seeking a Business Improvement Officer to support the coordination and delivery of improvement activity across our Housing services. This role will play an important part in ensuring that improvement plans are effectively managed, tracked and embedded, supporting the Council’s wider ambitions for service transformation.

Working across Housing, you will help coordinate service reviews, maintain oversight of improvement actions, and support the delivery of change from design through to implementation. You will work with service leads and stakeholders to ensure that plans remain up to date, risks and issues are identified and managed, and progress is clearly reported.

The role also includes supporting the effective use of Housing systems and data to drive improvement. You will analyse performance information, identify trends and areas for action, and help services translate insight into practical, sustainable changes. This will include facilitating workshops, supporting process reviews, and ensuring that new ways of working are embedded through guidance and training.

A key part of the role is stakeholder coordination - acting as a link between teams, system providers and partners to ensure that improvement activity progresses smoothly and delivers intended outcomes.

We are looking for someone who is organised, analytical and proactive, with experience of supporting change or improvement activity in a service environment. Experience of working in housing, a programme or PMO environment, or with service improvement and systems would be highly beneficial. An understanding of social housing and the regulatory context would be desirable.

At Arun, we offer a supportive and collaborative environment where continuous improvement is a priority. You will be joining a team focused on delivering meaningful change and improving outcomes for residents.

This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a high-profile improvement programme and play a tangible role in strengthening our housing services. If you are motivated by delivering structured change and working with stakeholders to drive improvement, we would welcome your application.

For more information about joining the Housing Team, the role profile is located at the bottom of this advert. It details the main duties of the job as well as the behaviours and competencies (evaluated at interview stage).

We love to invest in our people, providing the opportunity for professional development and fulfilment. Work life balance is encouraged, and we enjoy a variety of flexible working arrangements. Please see Why work for Arun for more information on what Arun offers their employees.

We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability.
