Do you want to play a key support role close to the heart of strategy and decision-making? The Strategy, Policy and Community Partnerships team lead on policy and strategy, supporting the strategic delivery of cross-cutting corporate programmes and advising on change and transformation within the council and the wider community.

We help create the right environment for partnership working, lead on voluntary sector strategy and support, and create the frameworks and tools to ensure that equality is embedded into service design and delivery. The Service leads in tackling some of the toughest issues facing the borough, including poverty reduction, tackling key inequalities and shaping an inclusive economy.

In this role, you will provide professional and proactive support to the team’s work to manage the government-funded Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), which has been provided to local authorities in England to help low-income households experiencing a financial shock and to promote activities that enhance financial resilience for individuals and communities. At Hackney, the fund is being used both internally (for example, through the council’s Here to Help team) and externally via a Grants programme to local voluntary and community sector organisations.

Situated within the Grants team, you will play a key role in the delivery of the CRF including administrative support with finance and reporting requirements, leading on communications and engagement work, and working closely with community partners through the Grants programme.

We will provide training to enable you to use the systems to carry out these tasks.

You will need to be collaborative, curious, highly organised and take responsibility for managing your own time and priorities.

Strong administration skills and attention to detail are essential, but you will also need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to work on several different areas of work at any one time, with different people and working with several managers. Experience of or interest in working with voluntary and community sector organisations is also a key factor of the role.

Please contact Lisa Atamian via email at lisa.atamian@hackney.gov.uk (Community Grants & Investment Manager) for an informal conversation about this role.
