If so, we have an exciting opportunity to manage a key area of strategic communications during a critical period of planning and delivery for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and we'd love to hear from you!

You will join MHCLG’s Communications Directorate and work in a team that delivers key communications for our delivery partner, Homes England, including the flagship National Housing Bank. Working closely with colleagues in Homes England, you will drive forward a crucial, high-profile communications campaign promoting the National Housing Bank (NHB) and associated products within the National Housing Delivery Fund (NHDF), driving awareness, engagement and trust among key audiences.

Job description

  • Work on the development, planning, coordination and delivery of communications plans and strategies, from generating ideas and analysing insight through to delivery and evaluation.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with colleagues across the communications team and beyond – acting as a trusted advisor, giving high quality and tailored communications advice across your portfolio.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of campaign activity across digital, media, and stakeholder channels.
  • Develop a pipeline of content production and asset creation across all campaign channels, maintaining brand consistency and quality standards.
  • Research, draft and manage library of case studies across key product areas, ensuring all target audiences are represented.
  • Liaise with Press and Media contacts to support campaign delivery, co-ordinate and maximise coverage opportunities and respond to media requests.
  • Implement and manage paid media campaigns, including trafficking, optimisation and budget tracking.
  • Work with colleagues, including the Homes England Market Engagement team, to support the planning and delivery of external engagement activities, such as attendance at sector events, webinars, and conferences.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day communications contact for long-term investment partners, supporting them to deliver joined up and consistent messaging.
  • Support senior members of the NHB delivery team with external communications activity, including presentations, speaking opportunities and thought leadership content.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse channel specific data, and optimise activity for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Oversee budget management and procurement for campaign-related activities including paid media.
  • Ensure compliance with government communications standards and accessibility requirements.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and updates for senior stakeholders on campaign progress and outcomes.
  • Manage risks and issues proactively, ensuring rapid response to emerging challenges.
  • Champion innovation and best practice in campaign delivery, leveraging insights and new tools.

Person specification

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale communications or marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of strategic communications, audience insight and behaviour change principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of digital and social media channels, content creation, and analytics.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Experience in budget management and working with agencies or suppliers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Public sector / banking sector / B2B communications desirable.
