At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are dedicated to improving lives and supporting our community. Our Adult Social Care team is committed to providing compassionate care and empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives. Join us in making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.

As a Care Worker in our Adult Social Care team, you will support individuals using our internal short breaks services located at Wynhill Lodge in Bingham, Helmsley Road in Mansfield, and Holles Street in Worksop. While previous experience in social care is beneficial, it is not essential. You will work with a strength-based approach, providing person-centred care that respects the dignity and preferences of each individual.

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Support individuals by following care and support plans, including health care and positive behaviour support plans.
  • Facilitate community access and encourage participation in activities tailored to individual preferences.
  • Record daily activities accurately using our digital care records system.
  • Complete all mandatory training and refreshers to ensure high-quality care.
  • Work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including early and late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A willingness to complete the Care Certificate and relevant training.
  • Knowledge of community care services and an understanding of various disabilities.
  • Experience in care work (paid, voluntary, or personal) is desirable but not mandatory.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Commitment to excellent customer care and empowering individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues and people using the service.
  • Problem-solving abilities to manage challenges effectively.
  • Organisational skills to manage time and priorities efficiently.
  • A dedication to equality, inclusion, dignity, and respect in all practices.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we believe in supporting our staff. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A place to belong: Join a friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Ongoing development: Access to training, coaching, and career progression opportunities.
  • Work-life balance: Flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle.
  • Generous leave: Enjoy annual leave and bank holidays to recharge.
  • Supportive environment: Regular supervision and a culture that values your wellbeing.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a real difference in your community! If you are compassionate, dedicated, and ready to support individuals in achieving their goals, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join Nottinghamshire County Council and be part of a team that is truly rooted in community!
