An opportunity has arisen to join Tower Hamlets and the City of London Youth Justice Service as a Youth Justice Case Prevention Officer on a permanent basis.

We are seeking someone with excellent skills in engaging children and families from diverse backgrounds and building positive, trusting relationships. These relationships are pivotal to all aspects of youth justice practice.

As a Case Prevention Officer, you will:

  • Work with children aged 10–17 who are referred to the Youth Justice Service by the Police, Court, or via our prevention offer.

  • Undertake high-quality assessments and devise individualised intervention plans tailored to children’s needs.

  • Focus on supporting desistance from offending, safeguarding children, and protecting the public.

  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children in Tower Hamlets and the City of London.

The Youth Justice Service is committed to a child-first approach, with collaboration at the heart of everything we do. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including speech and language therapists, substance misuse practitioners, police, CAMHS clinicians, education officers, and therapeutic practitioners.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:

  • At least 2 years experience of working with children, young people and their families;

  • Strong relationship-building skills with children and families;

  • An understanding of trauma-informed, restorative, and relational approaches;

  • Experience of working in partnership with multi-agency teams and;

  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and delivering positive outcomes for children and young people.
