About the team

Servies for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; careers, education information, advice and guidance, work related learning and work experience to young people across Hertfordshire. The Service provides a wide range of careers and work related support, predominantly for young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 if they have learning difficulties or disabilities) to make sure that the needs of young people are met so that they are able and motivated to remain in or return to education, training or work and achieve their full potential.

About the role

Key activities of the role include:

  • Understanding the needs of young people and how the priorities of HCC SfYP address them and personally develop existing and new services.
  • Ensuring that the needs of all clients are met, so that they are able and motivated to engage in education, training, work opportunities and constructive activities that lead to successful transitions and positive destination outcomes.
  • Ability to be flexible, to multi -task and to work independently within dynamic and evolving teams.
  • Deliver CEIAG in 1 to 1 and groups and create new products and programmes.

About you

Essential:

  • Diploma in Careers Guidance parts 1 and 2; QCG and or Level 6 in Advice and Guidance and evidence of relevant continuing professional development and the ability to put learning into practice.
  • For the trainee post you will need appropriate prior learning that will enable you to undertake the QCF Level 6 Advice and Guidance. Ability/capacity to study if a trainee
  • Previous experience of working intensively with young people with a range of needs and backgrounds.
  • Good ICT Skills
  • Ability to be flexible in multi tasking and working independently
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to performance manage a team to a high standard
  • Able to understand the barriers that young people face
  • To be able to work to and achieve targets
  • To understand the needs of the young people, and service delivery
  • Full UK driving licence with regular access to a vehicle.
