Chief Executive
Create safe, healthy and good quality homes and communities for our customers.
Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) formed in 2004 to manage social housing on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC).
We manage just under 10,000 tenanted homes and approximately 1,000 leasehold properties. We also look after just over 5,000 garages and a small number of shared ownership properties. We manage around 100 temporary accommodation units, supplemented by private sector leasing properties.
We are run by a Board made up of three tenants, three councillors and three independent people chosen for their specialist skills and experience.
Our five-year Future Strategic Vision: Create safe, healthy and good quality homes and communities for our customers embraces a continuing commitment to contribute to the development and implementation of the Solihull Council Plan.
Following a short period of leadership from an interim Chief Executive we are now looking for our new Chief Executive who will lead us into the next phase for SCH. They will inherit an Organisation in a solid position, with a strong Solihull community focus, putting tenants, residents and people at the heart of everything we do.
You must be able to bring proven leadership skills and the vision to deliver excellent services for our residents, clients and staff. You will value that sometimes doing things differently for the benefit of our community is the right thing to do. Recognising SMBC as our sole shareholder and parent Organisation, the CEO will see partnership and collaboration as a foundation for success.
The role will initially be for an 18-month fixed term to allow a review of the housing arrangements in Solihull to be undertaken.
We see this as an excellent opportunity to make an impact in a geographically focused organisation with a social ethos.
