Leicestershire Police are looking for Child Exploitation Team Volunteers

As a Police Support Volunteer, you will provide valuable assistance to the Force Child Exploitation Team. Your support will help officers and police staff safeguard vulnerable individuals and progress sensitive and complex investigations.

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute your time and skills to protect children and young people from exploitation.

Some of the tasks we would like your help with:

  • Assisting in the analysis and review of third party material
  • Completing transcripts of Audio/Visual material
  • Assisting with reviews of visual material
  • Assisting in the analysis and review of Digital/mobile phone extraction reports
  • Assisting with the support in Cyccomms/telecommunications applications
  • Assisting with the redaction of material
  • Supporting CCTV tasking, scoping, review and presentation
  • Supporting through tasking exploitation investigations

Skills and Qualities We’re Looking For

  • Good written and report‑writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft systems
  • Full driving licence (desirable depending on tasks)

Training and Support You Will Receive

You will take part in a full induction to help you understand your role and how the force operates. This will include training on specialist databases and IT systems relevant to the work of the Child Exploitation Team. Ongoing guidance and support will be provided throughout your volunteering.

Time Commitment

This is a flexible volunteer role, with hours agreed locally to suit both you and the team.
The department operates seven days a week; however, all shifts are daytime only.
