Children and Young Persons Support Worker (North Somerset) | Cranstoun

A unique and rewarding opportunity to join Cranstoun’s North Somerset Domestic Abuse Support Service as a Children and Young Persons Support Worker. This role will deliver trauma-informed support to children and young people affected by familial domestic abuse through one-to-one and group interventions in schools, community settings and other outreach environments.

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and dynamic practitioner with experience of direct work with children and young people, safeguarding and multi-agency working. You will be confident in assessing risk and need, developing support and safety plans, and delivering flexible, age-appropriate interventions that place the voice of the child at the centre of all work.

The successful applicant will work closely with schools, children’s social care, adult domestic abuse services and other partner agencies to coordinate support, manage risk, promote safeguarding and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. You will also maintain accurate case records, contribute to service monitoring and help raise awareness of domestic abuse and healthy relationships.

You will bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, a child-centred and trauma-informed approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a busy multi-agency team. Experience of domestic abuse services, group work, outreach or working in school and community settings would be advantageous.

Post holder will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check against relevant barred lists.
