About the role
Are you looking for a new challenge within the council? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Civil Enforcement Officer, helping to deliver high-quality enforcement services across Crawley.
This role plays a vital part in supporting the safe and efficient movement of traffic throughout the borough. Working in partnership with West Sussex County Council, we focus on promoting parking compliance through both education and enforcement, ensuring fair and effective use of on-street parking and council-operated car parks.
You’ll bring your understanding of the council’s commitment to excellent customer service and community wellbeing into every interaction. You’ll act as a visible ambassador for the council, offering guidance and assistance to the public while maintaining a professional and approachable presence on the streets.
We work in partnership with the community protection team, the police and other agencies to reduce anti-social behaviour within Crawley Borough Council-owned car parks.
Key aspects of the role:
- outdoor, foot-based work in all weather conditions
- frequent walking and physical activity
- direct engagement with members of the public, including managing challenging situations
- a balance of team collaboration and independent working
Ideal candidates will have:
- strong communication and customer service skills
- confidence in using basic IT systems
- a calm, proactive approach and the ability to diffuse difficult situations professionally
- due to the amount of walking, please ensure you are able to meet the physical requirements of the role
If you're ready to take on a new role that offers variety, public interaction, and the chance to contribute to the day-to-day life of Crawley, we encourage you to apply.
