Perseid School is a research-informed school and teachers who do not already hold a Master’s degree in a relevant area will be required to undertake a Master’s qualification in SEND via distance learning once they join the teaching staff. This will apply to ECTs following successful completion of their ECT programme and to all other teachers from the academic year after joining the school. The school funds 80% of the course fees and teachers are expected to contribute 20% and remain at the school for a minimum of two years following completion of the qualification.

About the Role
Perseid School is a specialist provision for pupils and students aged 3–19 with complex additional needs. Operating across both Upper and Lower campuses, the school is committed to delivering outstanding education, care and outcomes for all learners within a highly supportive and collaborative environment.
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out the professional duties of a teacher in line with the Teachers’ Standards and School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences which enable every pupil to thrive and achieve their potential.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated multi-disciplinary setting where staff work closely together to support pupils with a wide range of complex learning and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning

Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons which support all pupils to achieve excellent outcomes

Create a safe, engaging and inspirational learning environment

Lead and manage an effective classroom team

Work collaboratively with colleagues and multi-disciplinary professionals to develop and implement personalised learning programmes

Prepare appropriate teaching materials and learning resources tailored to individual pupil needs

Support the delivery of the School Development Plan and wider school priorities

Undertake assessment, monitoring and record-keeping in line with school policy
-
Write annual reviews, reports and other documentation to a consistently high standard

Contribute to curriculum development and classroom-based resource management
-
Support colleagues in developing effective teaching and learning practice across the school
Subject Leadership (where applicable)

Lead a curriculum or subject area across the campus as required

Support planning, resourcing and budget management within the subject area

Contribute to staff development and share specialist knowledge and expertise
(Subject leadership responsibilities would not apply to Early Career Teachers.)
Safeguarding

Actively promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people

Follow all school safeguarding procedures and attend mandatory safeguarding training
