Freshfield Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Teacher with SEN experience to join the wonderful teaching team in our specialist provision base.

Our Resourced Provision is set up to meet the needs of up to 28 children with Autistic Spectrum Condition across the primary phase. It is a nurturing environment which is designed to allow children to follow their own interests and develop as competent and independent learners. Our curriculum encourages active engagement in learning and focuses on developing the key skills of communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, physical development and sensory needs.

The successful candidate will be:

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with SEND experience

  • Able to inspire, challenge and motivate all students and lead by example
  • Creative, innovative and have a passion for improvement

  • Organised and have highly developed communication skills
  • Demonstrate they can deliver educational progress and outcomes for SEND children.
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals
  • Knowledgeable about the learning needs of students with a range of barriers to overcome
  • A reflective practitioner who is committed to personal development and willing to learn
  • Able to demonstrate their commitment to child centred values

Due to the nature of work the post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.
