At Hightown Housing Association, we are looking for a Clean and Clear Operative to join our Asset Management team. This is an important role within our in-house voids team, helping us prepare homes for new residents by ensuring properties are cleared, cleaned and ready to let as quickly and efficiently as possible.

About the Role

As a Clean and Clear Operative, you will be responsible for clearing vacant properties, removing unwanted items and thoroughly cleaning homes to a lettable standard. You will work closely with our Multi-Trade Operatives and supervisors to ensure void properties are turned around efficiently, helping new residents move into their homes sooner.

The role is varied and hands-on. In addition to void clearances and cleaning, you may undertake minor maintenance tasks, assist with grounds maintenance and caretaking duties, and support the upkeep of communal areas and Hightown House when required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Clearing and cleaning empty properties to a high standard
  • Safely disposing of waste and hazardous materials where required
  • Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Supporting grounds maintenance and caretaking activities during quieter periods
  • Maintaining stock, tools and equipment within your vehicle
  • Reporting repairs, hazards and follow-up actions
  • Working safely and in line with health and safety procedures
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver an excellent service for residents and customers

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has experience using cleaning and gardening equipment
  • Can carry out basic repairs and day-to-day maintenance tasks
  • Has good awareness of health and safety practices
  • Is able to work independently whilst also being a strong team player
  • Has basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Has experience of dealing with customers or residents
  • Is physically capable of carrying out a demanding, practical role
  • Holds a full driving licence
