- Experience handling complex and sensitive situations, ideally within finance, adult social care, or a similar setting
- A good understanding of safeguarding practices
- The ability to build strong working relationships and communicate clearly with a range of people and organisations
- A commitment to continuous improvement and a collaborative approach to driving service innovation
About the service
The Court of Protection and Appointeeship Service supports individuals who have been formally assessed as lacking the mental capacity to manage their own financial affairs, and who have no suitable family member or friend able to act on their behalf. In these circumstances, Lincolnshire County Council can apply to the Court of Protection to become the person's deputy, taking on responsibility for managing their finances and, where required, obtaining the legal authority to manage more complex property and financial matters. Alternatively, the council can be appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions to act as their appointee, managing income, benefits, and day-to-day financial arrangements. In all cases, the service acts to safeguard the person's financial wellbeing, making decisions and managing their affairs in their best interests, in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Please be advised that this position may be subject to a criminal record check.
