Transport Services Group
Are you organised, proactive, and motivated to make a difference to local communities? We are looking for a Support Officer – Client Operations to join our Transport Services team, helping to ensure safe, effective, and value‑for‑money transport services across Lincolnshire.
About the role
This is a varied and fast‑paced role supporting the planning, commissioning, and delivery of passenger transport services, predominately for education and social care.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will:
- Assist with commissioning and procurement activities
- Work closely with internal colleagues, transport providers, and other stakeholders
- Help ensure services are delivered in line with council policy, budgets, and statutory duties
You will play an important role in ensuring services are efficient, responsive, and meet the needs of our service users.
What you’ll be doing
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the administration and data entry of transport contract information, ensuring records are accurate, up to date, and reflect agreed service arrangements
- Contributing to day‑to‑day administrative processes that support operational delivery, including maintaining systems and processing routine updates
- Maintaining effective working relationships with internal teams and external providers to obtain, verify, and update information
- Supporting responses to enquiries, investigations, and correspondence through accurate information gathering, record checking, and documentation
- Delivering a high standard of customer service by handling queries, processing requests, and maintaining clear and accurate records within a complex public‑sector environment
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Can work within structured processes while responding positively to changing priorities
- Has strong organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Is confident working with stakeholders and managing sensitive or complex situations
- Demonstrates good customer service skills and a professional approach
- Is able to use initiative and make sound, evidence‑based decisions
- Understands the importance of working within a policy, political, and financial framework
Experience of transport operations, commissioning, or contract support is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Salary range
- £25,989 - £27,254 per year
