This role is central to ensuring that transport providers meet contractual requirements, relevant legislation and Council regulations, helping to deliver high-quality services for residents.You will monitor all contract and agreement arrangements with transport providers, ensuring full compliance with Conditions of Contract. This includes checking that vehicles are legally compliant and that staff working on vehicles hold valid official contractor badges. You will deliver a programme of inspections across both contracted operators and the Council’s internal fleet, carrying out random checks and targeted inspections where issues or concerns have been identified.You will manage the official contractor badge process, monitoring and processing applications, checking documentation such as enhanced DBS certificates and training records, issuing badges, and maintaining accurate staffing records. You will maintain regular communication with contractors to ensure compliance is sustained.The role includes undertaking passenger risk assessments and providing advice on contract arrangements, including vehicle suitability, staff qualifications and service delivery. You will work closely with the Passenger Transport Unit and client departments to support safe and effective transport provision.You will inspect contractor premises and review documentation as part of contract management activity, ensuring adherence to contract specifications. Accurate contract performance records will be maintained, including inspections, complaints, monitoring outcomes and defaults, using the Council’s transport management systems.You will maintain regular contact with day centre managers, headteachers, clients, Council departments and external transport operators to address performance standards and service issues. Office cover will be provided as required to support service continuity.Occasionally, you may be required to drive a Council bus to provide cover during sickness or emergency situations.Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.<h2>About you</h2>You will have some experience of contracted and fleet passenger transport operations, with an understanding of how transport services are delivered and monitored. You will also have some knowledge of vehicle legislation, mechanics and vehicle components, and be confident in inspecting vehicles and checking licensing and compliance documentation.You will be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, using your initiative to manage your workload and respond to issues as they arise. You will have the ability to prepare and present clear, accurate and well-structured reports for a range of audiences.Good IT skills are essential. A school crossing patrol officer is responsible for assisting children to cross the road safely on their way to and from school, this is achieved by standing in the middle of the road and stopping traffic when the children arrive at your crossing point in Ealing Road.&nbsp;

The Post
The London Borough of Brent is looking for is looking for a talented Senior Contracts Manager with a successful proven track record, ideally within parking sector. &nbsp;The postholder will be responsible to lead and manage our parking services, which include the client team, notice processing team, and the delivery of parking improvement projects.
Responsible for the effective management of contracts, including, Parking and Traffic Enforcement contract, Cashless Parking and Permit contract, and CCTV enforcement contract along with IT systems and Enforcement Agents for debt recovery, you will have a strong focus on efficiencies, improving the customer experience and continuous improvement.

As the councils lead in parking services, you will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop excellent relationships with partners, elected members, and key stakeholders

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and manage the Active Travel Team at the LCRCA.

As the Active Travel Manager, you will manage a multi-disciplined team that undertake the development and delivery of new infrastructure, collaborating with our constituent local authorities, and funding partners such as Active Travel England. You will also manage a wide range of projects and programmes within the team’s portfolio across the Liverpool City Region with the aim of encouraging and enabling the take-up of active travel and supporting the growth of the City Region’s walking, wheeling and cycling network.
You will help deliver the Metro Mayor’s ambition for walking, wheeling and cycling becoming the preferred ways of travelling shorter distances by the people of Liverpool City Region. You will manage initiatives and projects that will make active travel easier by improving connections between our public transport hubs (like railway stations) and walking and cycling routes, and, in doing so, deliver the mayor’s vision for a London -style, integrated, transport system.
About the person
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience and a passion for active travel and sustainable transport, supported by a degree in a relevant subject. You will be able to demonstrate the skills required to manage the team and to ensure that the LCRCA can deliver on its ambitions set out in both its Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) and forthcoming Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4).

The Job Role
As Civic Chauffeur, you will be responsible for transporting the Chairman and Civic party to official engagements, ensuring timely arrivals through effective route planning and providing courteous support throughout events. In addition to co-ordinating activities, we also enforce legislation relating to utility company works, protect highway infrastructure, check safety around temporary traffic management and minimise disruption as far as practicable on the highway networkThe RoleWe are looking for a Senior/Compliance &amp; Enforcement Officer to work in our Highway Network Management Team. The role is a career graded post and while ideally we are seeking someone at the Senior level grade, would welcome &amp; applications from those who feel they may meet the level 6 criteria. Reporting directly to the Principal Compliance &amp; Enforcement Officer you will use you’re experience, knowledge and skills to carry out a range of co-ordination, inspection, compliance, monitoring, reporting, evaluation and enforcement activities, relating to street/roadworks permits, licenses and events on/impacting the highway network to meet relevant legislative and statutory requirements over a geographical area. Candidates who do not meet all Senior-level criteria may be considered for appointment at Level 6; requirements for each level are outlined in the job description.About YouWe are seeking an experienced professional with significant practical experience in a highway related environment - such as Network Management, Streetworks, or a utility background. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently while also being an effective and collaborative team player. For the Senior career grade, a NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor card is essential along with relevant industry experience. You should have a strong understanding of the challenges associated with works on/affecting the highway and proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Key skills and essential criteria for the Senior level include:<ul><li>Ability to work independently, using strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve issues, plan solutions, and make sound decisions.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge and understanding of technical standards safe working practices and legislation for working in highways (including experience in undertaking inspections)</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent IT skills, including the ability to interrogate street works permits and licences, and proficiency with relevant software and hardware.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience of technical operational activities, including inspections and temporary traffic management planning, in collaboration with internal teams and external organisations.</li></ul><ul><li>A vocational qualification or experience to level 4 relevant to the service area or equivalent is essential.</li></ul><ul><li>Either be an existing member of or on successful appointment be able to join a recognised Highway professional body.</li></ul><ul><li>You will have a full valid driving licence.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to present evidence confidently.</li></ul><ul><li>To resolve enquiries and complaints in relation to highway enforcement activities in a timely safe and efficient manner. Conflict management skills are essential.</li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate excellent IT skills including interrogation/investigation of street works or highway licence permits and specialist software such as Street Manager (or equivalent package) is essential. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent packages)</li></ul><ul><li>Be competent in the use of a range of software and hardware, including mobile devices and body worn camera etc, for the reporting of faults, breaches of enforcement, writing reports and documents, sending emails etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Good organisation skills and accurate record keeping is essential.</li></ul>A full valid driving licence is an essential condition for this role.This position will be based at our Town Hall office in Weston-super-Mare.Work StyleAt North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles.
