The Club and Community Sport Officer is based in Sport and Leisure Services in the Children’s Services Directorate. The main purpose of the job is to create and to support stronger, safer, more sustainable and inclusive sports clubs and associations in Shetland through improving their governance and volunteer capacity, and enhancing their links with other clubs, schools, communities and governing bodies.
The Club and Community Sport Officer will encourage the wider participation, development and performance in sport by adopting a proactive approach to assist and support sport clubs, Community Sports Hubs and other relevant organisations in Shetland.

- Rate of pay shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour
- Permanent Part Time post for 35.0 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made
- A relocation package does not apply to this post
- We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland
- You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited
