Commercial Assistant – Help Keep Our Repairs Service Accurate, Efficient and On Budget

Enjoy working with data? Have an eye for accuracy and detail? As a Commercial Assistant at Peabody, you’ll be part of a small but vital team making sure all contractor repair works are correctly coded, costed and quality checked. From validating invoices to reviewing photos and SOR codes, you’ll play a key role in helping us deliver a high‑quality, cost‑efficient repairs service.

This is a role where your precision and organisation really matter. You’ll help maintain accurate records, support commercial reporting, and keep stakeholders informed—all while contributing to our commitment to delivering excellent repairs for our residents.

What you’ll do

  • Review contractor repair orders and apply the correct SOR (Schedule of Rates) codes
  • Validate contractor invoices, checking that costs align with agreed rates
  • Review repair photos and reports to ensure works meet Peabody’s quality standards
  • Assist in preparing weekly cost and productivity reports
  • Support the Commercial Analyst in tracking financial performance and budget adherence
  • Maintain cost databases, records and commercial tracking tools
  • Support productivity reviews and assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Work closely with contractors, planners, supervisors and commercial colleagues
  • Provide accurate administrative support to the Commercial Manager and wider team
  • Help ensure commercial controls are followed and data is consistently accurate

What you’ll need

  • Experience applying SOR codes within repairs or maintenance
  • Familiarity with Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes
  • Strong data accuracy and confident administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working across teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
