HSE’s Specialist Division comprises Inspectors and scientists who provide technical input and advice to support HSE’s core regulatory functions of inspection, investigation, policy development and guidance.
We are now looking for a Commissioning and Work Recording Team Leader to join us on a permanent basis, working full-time or part-time at a minimum of 30 hours per week. This role is based at one of our national offices and involves some travel and overnight stays.

The Role
As a Commissioning and Work Recording Team Leader, you will lead the development and improvement of commissioning, planning, and recording processes for the work of HSE’s new Specialist Division.
Specifically, you will lead the design and implementation of annual work planning and monitoring systems, develop divisional work recording mechanisms, and provide monthly performance reports to divisional leaders.
Supporting the design and delivery of project portfolio management and reporting frameworks, you will ensure they align with business assurance and continuous improvement.
Additionally, you will:
- Work with divisional leaders to commission specialist work appropriately
- Support the operation of commissioning processes across the division
- Lead the implementation of new work recording approaches
- Design and deliver operational reports and dashboards
- Promote efficiency and assurance through process improvements
About You
To be considered as a Commissioning and Work Recording Team Leader, you will need:
- Experience working with technical professionals and senior leaders in a project delivery environment
- Experience in data analytics and presenting data through clear visual formats
- Experience leading people (e.g. in project, operational, or voluntary capacities)
- Knowledge of developing performance indicators and interpreting performance data
- The ability to influence and challenge effectively to drive improvements
- A degree in any subject or Level 6 equivalent (Level 10 in Scotland)
