    About the role

In addition to the statutory library service, Northamptonshire’s LibraryPlus supports a number of Community Managed Libraries which are run by volunteers. Your role will be to support these libraries in their day to day work, training volunteers to deliver the best possible library service to their local community. You will also carry out regular monitoring reviews against a Service Level Agreement, to ensure quality service delivery.

The post is based in Northampton, but is a flexible role.

The role will include frequent travel to libraries located across the whole county, so you must be able to travel independently, sometimes at short notice.

This is a half time role which may require occasional weekend working for volunteer training, so you will need to be flexible to the business needs of the service.

    Additional information

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to think on your feet?

Can you be flexible in your approach and are you seeking a role where no two days are the same?

Are you enthusiastic about library services, able to build good working relationships and communicate at all levels and have achieved GCSEs in Maths and English?

If you can answer yes to these questions then you could be the person we are looking for.

We are seeking a flexible individual who can work within a small team, but also able to work on their own initiative and to prioritize their own workload day to day.

You must be willing to gain a detailed knowledge of LibraryPlus policies and procedures, stock management and the workings of the Library Management System.

You must be confident in working with volunteers, to be able to identify their training needs and to ensure that quality library services are delivered from each Community Managed Library.

If you are to be considered for this role, you must address all aspects of the Person Specification in your supporting statement.
