
Community Safety Programme Coordinator
We are seeking a Community Safety Programme Coordinator to make a difference in our communities both nationally and locally, the crime landscape is changing. Increasingly, crimes are complex, hidden, and linked, creating new demands on agencies and services and requiring innovative responses.
This is an opportunity to use your knowledge and experience of safeguarding and partnerships alongside wide-ranging support skills, to contribute to team activities designed to reduce violence against women and girls and other community safety themes.

Salary: £41,177 to £44,253 per annum.
Location: Your office base will be Chichester,
Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week Monday - Friday.

As a Community Safety Programmes Coordinator you will lead and coordinate local authority and partnership projects relating to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and wider community safety priorities, ensuring effective delivery, partnership engagement and continuous improvement.
You will support the design and monitoring of grant funded interventions and projects, undertake in-depth research on complex and fast-changing issues, identify partnership training needs, design and deliver high-quality training resources to a wide audience and in a range of formats, and undertake evaluation work, helping to build partner and public understanding of local risks in relation to violence against women and girls (VAWG) and a range of other community safety issues.
You will keep abreast of emerging issues, policy and legislation relating to VAWG, and design and run projects and information campaigns in collaboration with colleagues and other agencies. You will be integral to supporting geographically located staff, coordinating activity across the team and wider county.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be confident, agile and responsive with strong organisational skills and an eye for detail. There will be rigour to your work, have a determination to see things through, as well as the ability to focus for long periods of time, multi-task and respond to deadlines.
You will be working unsupervised for much of the time, making pragmatic day to day decisions within recognised procedures to ensure service continuity, including fielding customer enquiries, responding independently to unanticipated problems and triaging/signposting colleagues, partners and members of the public to support the team.

- Ability to demonstrate higher level thinking skills, make connections between complex community safety issues and develop creative solutions which contribute to reducing harm and vulnerability.
- Confident communicator, able to build and sustain credible partner relationships, with excellent written and verbal skills and capacity to manage large amounts of complex and sensitive information.
- Ability to organise/prioritise work within a fast-paced environment, coordinate and plan work logically, meeting deadlines and responding to customer queries and emerging issues.
- Ability to influence the actions of others, negotiating solutions across the business area and able to convince others to take a specific course of action by developing positive partnership ways of working with a range of
- Ability to present sensitive, contentious and complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and produce learning materials to promote understanding and provide high-quality training delivery and resources to suit different audiences.
- Ability to research, analyse and interpret information to make effective judgements about the need for new initiatives and to review the effectiveness of existing activities and service provision. Ability to plan long-term and set timescales, including understanding the broader business environment and team/Directorate strategic context and incorporate both in decision making.
- Ability to plan, manage and deliver projects within a complex partnership environment, including developing funding bids and the required reporting to meet grant requirements.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification or extensive relevant experience.
* Knowledge of the violence against women and girls agenda and legislation associated with this.
* Experience of managing and/or monitoring complex initiatives and projects.
* Sound and accurate IT knowledge, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
