Are you passionate about keeping our communities safe, supporting residents through challenging moments, and making sure we deliver on our promises every single time? If you thrive on meaningful work, enjoy building strong relationships and take pride in getting things sorted, this could be your next step.
We’re looking for a Community Safety Specialist – also known as an ASB Officer – to join our North West Region.
You’ll be a proactive, visible presence in our neighbourhoods, working directly with residents, colleagues and partners to provide a fair, compassionate and effective community safety service.
This role is resident‑facing, so you’ll spend most of your time out and about in our communities, building trust, responding to concerns and making sure issues are resolved quickly and safely.
You will also have:
- A mandatory office day in Ealing every Wednesday and on one Thursday per month.
What you’ll do
- Lead a varied ASB caseload, from early‑stage reports to complex, high‑risk cases requiring robust interventions or legal action.
- Prepare case files, statements and legal documentation, representing the organisation at court, panels and multi‑agency meetings.
- Work collaboratively with Police, local authorities and internal teams to deliver timely, effective and proportionate responses.
- Provide practical advice and support to Neighbourhood Managers to prevent issues from escalating.
- Maintain accurate case records, monitor KPIs, and contribute to learning and continuous improvement across the service.
- Be a visible and accessible presence across the North West Region, supporting residents and championing safer, stronger communities.
What you’ll bring (Essential for shortlisting)
To be considered, you must clearly demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing ASB or community safety cases end‑to‑end, including investigations, evidence‑gathering and supporting or leading legal action.
- Strong working knowledge of ASB legislation, tools and powers, and how to apply them appropriately.
- Confident communication skills, able to engage sensitively with residents, influence partners and represent the organisation professionally at meetings and court.
- Excellent organisation and judgement, with the ability to manage a varied caseload, assess risk and maintain accurate records.
- A values‑led approach — empathetic, resilient, collaborative, and committed to delivering a fair, safe and customer‑focused service every time.
Why this role matters
You’ll play a vital role in helping residents feel safe, listened to and supported, while ensuring we uphold our service standards at every stage. Your professionalism, empathy and decision‑making will directly shape people’s sense of safety, wellbeing and trust in our services.
If you love working in the community, enjoy problem‑solving and want a role where you can make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
