Compliance Officer - Revenues (Part-Time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our team on a part-time basis. The role of the Compliance Officer is to protect and maximise the Council Tax/Business Rate base by undertaking risk based reviews of all discounts, exemptions and reliefs, including Local Council Tax Support, to ensure that they are granted correctly and that where incorrect, the reduction, discount or exemption is removed or reduced accordingly, and where appropriate impose penalties in line with policies and legislation. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for investigating fraud preparing reports including conducting Interviews under caution and for undertaking occasional compliance visits and regularly assist in the production of no tolerance and seasonal publicity campaigns.
