Compliance Performance Officer

Fixed term Contract – 12 months

About the role

The City of London Corporation’s Housing Property Services team is responsible for monitoring and maintaining statutory compliance across a housing portfolio of 3,024 homes within the Housing Revenue Account (HRA).

We are seeking a Compliance Performance Officer to provide interim cover within the Property Services team. The role is responsible for monitoring, examining and reporting on statutory compliance performance across housing assets, with a focus on supporting legal, regulatory and organisational assurance.

You will support operational teams, internal stakeholders and external contractors by interpreting compliance data, identifying trends and risks, and producing reports that inform service delivery, audit readiness and performance improvement.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain and update compliance monitoring systems (such as Civica, Keystone or similar) to reflect planned and completed statutory inspections, servicing and remedial actions.
  • Collect, maintain and analyse statutory compliance data across housing assets, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and consistency.
  • Interpret compliance data to identify trends, risks and areas of noncompliance, escalating issues and supporting remedial and preventative planning.
  • Produce regular and adhoc performance reports using Excel and other reporting tools to support management oversight and decision making.
  • Support the monitoring of compliance related KPIs and provide data and insight that contributes to Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs).
  • Lead on planning and coordinating access arrangements for statutory inspections and remedial works, working closely with estate staff, operational colleagues and contractors to ensure access is secured.
  • Liaise with contractors and internal teams to follow up overdue actions and support improvements in compliance performance.
  • Support audits, assurance exercises and responses to internal or external regulatory queries.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures, data standards and system improvements that support effective compliance governance.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience collecting, maintaining and analysing compliance related data within a housing, asset, CAFM or compliance management system.
  • An understanding of statutory compliance obligations within housing, such as fire safety, gas safety, asbestos management, legionella control, electrical safety or lifting equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
  • Experience working with large datasets and maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational demands.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with contractors, colleagues and senior stakeholders.

An IOSH Working Safely qualification (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification) is required for this role.
