About the role

We are looking for a Compliance Project Support Officer to join our Crawley Homes' Housing team who can:

  • support our Compliance team in delivering planned maintenance and statutory compliance to coordinate and maintain performance data and operational procedures
  • monitor and report financial information, ensuring compliance with payment procedures
  • provide administrative and technical support, including raising orders, processing payments, and updating records
  • maintain accurate records of compliance certificates and statutory servicing (for example, gas, electrical and fire safety)
  • respond to customer enquiries and complaints, escalating where necessary
  • use IT systems such as Active-H and Microsoft Office to manage data and communications

You need to be highly motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently and as part of a very busy dynamic multi-skilled team, having the professional and essential skills to deliver the work as set out in the job description.

It would be an advantage, although not essential, if you have worked within a social housing maintenance environment with a background in working on compliance projects.

We are a stock retained authority with over 8,400 homes, plus sheltered and hostel accommodation under our management. The stock is managed by our Crawley Homes division. We are passionate about the services we deliver and our commitment to building safety.

Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received.

Additional information

We offer hybrid working with a requirement to be in the Town Hall a minimum of two days per week.

You may be required to work at a contractor’s premises.

Employee benefits

We offer a generous employee benefits package, with a range of discounts, benefits and wellbeing incentives to suit everyone.

Our way of working

Our shared values and behaviours reflect the special nature of our council. We encourage all colleagues to put them into practice, whatever job they do. Take a look to see if we are the perfect match.

Safer recruitment

Crawley Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We want to be an inclusive and diverse employer of first choice reflecting the community we serve and particularly welcome applications from all under represented groups.
