Work patterns: Full Time (Hybrid 60% office 40% wfh)

Contract type: 12 month FTC

To lead the planning, creation and delivery of engaging, impactful content across London Luton Airport’s social media channels. The postholder will be responsible for managing the airport’s content strategy, enhancing brand visibility, supporting strategic communication objectives, and protecting LLA’s reputation. The role supports both internal and external communications activity through the delivery of high-quality, on-brand content.

Job purpose summary

To lead the planning, creation and delivery of engaging, impactful content across London Luton Airport’s social media channels. The postholder will be responsible for managing the airport’s content strategy, enhancing brand visibility, supporting strategic communication objectives, and protecting LLA’s reputation. The role supports both internal and external communications activity through the delivery of high-quality, on-brand content.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Take ownership of LLA’s social media strategy—developing, executing and continually refining a data-driven approach that aligns with business objectives, enhances audience engagement and protects the airport’s reputation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of LLA’s social media channels, ensuring all content reflects the company’s values, tone of voice, and strategic goals.
  • Plan, write and produce creative, high-quality content including blogs, articles, videos, infographics, imagery and web copy—working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external creative partners.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, timely, brand-aligned and optimised for performance across digital channels.
  • Proactively monitor competitor activity and digital trends to generate insights that shape LLA’s content strategy, inform channel planning, and ensure the airport remains ahead of industry benchmarks.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on content formats, messaging and delivery channels to support strategic communications objectives.
  • Contribute to and manage a forward-looking content calendar, identifying opportunities to share relevant stories and updates in alignment with business priorities.
  • Oversee the management, storage and effective use of digital content assets, including photography, video, and graphic materials.
  • Support wider communication activity to enhance brand reputation, including positive media coverage and stakeholder engagement
  • Line manage or mentor team members as required, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Contribute to delivering a great guest experience by performing your role with accuracy and efficiency. Recognising that every task, whether guest facing or behind the scenes contributes to supporting the company’s overall LLA Way Strategy and service standards.
  • Proactively and positively promote the LLA Way initiatives and projects with all employees and the wider airport community.

Qualifications required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of tone and messaging.
  • Proven experience in digital content creation within journalism, media, marketing, or content production.
  • Advanced understanding of social media platforms, strategy development, and content best practices.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Final Cut Pro X and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign or other image-editing tools is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-impact content strategies informed by analytics and audience insights.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications in media, communications, marketing or related disciplines.
